I am a self-taught photographer. I learned all my skills and techniques from practice, research, advice from pros, and articles. Along the way, I've learned a lot of tips and tricks for success and creativity in photography. Here are some of them:
Learn to use manual settings
You'll never get the best photos and truly grow as a photographer if you only shoot on "Auto" mode. Instead, learn the different camera settings, what they mean, how they effect a photo, and then use that knowledge to shoot in "Manual" mode where you choose the settings.
Practice, Practice, Practice
There is no substitute for experience and practice. That's how you grow the most as a photographer. You naturally grow and learn new skills through practice that you wouldn't otherwise. I'm not the same photographer I was 2 years ago because of all the practice I have had.
Any camera is a good camera
Many people don't have the luxury of buying the best cameras. However, you do not need the fanciest cameras and lens to take good photos. All it takes is understanding the camera settings, practice, lighting, and a few other things.
